Join us for the INAUGURAL ISLAND RUN

On July 1, 2024, Dave Mitchell began his epic Island Run. Between July 1st and July 30th  Dave will run one section of the Island Walk daily. On July 31st he will complete a double leg, running the final two sections in one day.  In total Dave will run 700 kilometres and circumnavigate Prince Edward Island to raise funds for the Island Walk, the Upper Room and PEI Food Banks.

The Island Walk is a non-profit organization managed and maintained by a small group of dedicated volunteers with a big dream. Funds from the Dave Mitchell Island Run will support ongoing Island Walk costs such as signage, improvements, updates and marketing. A portion of the proceeds from the event will also support the vital work of the Upper Room and PEI Food Bank committed to addressing food insecurity through initiatives such as a soup kitchen, food pantry, as well as funds for in-school nutrition programs to ensure all of our students are equipped to learn.

You can be part of this exciting initiative. On July 27th you’re invited to join Dave for a 12km walk/run/hike along the Confederation Trail between Cardigan and Montague. The trail is wheelchair accessible and open to wheelchair participants. Included in the cost of registration is a midway refreshment station and following the event a celebratory lunch complete with cool prizes, Island Walk merchandise for sale, and entertainment.
