Become an Island Walk Partner

The Island Walk is a 700 km walking route that circles Prince Edward Island, guiding visitors through coastal landscapes, small communities, and local businesses along the way.

Each season, walkers from around the world come to PEI to experience the Island at a slower pace. Staying in local accommodations, eating at local restaurants, and discovering the places that make this Island special.

That’s where you come in.

Island Walk Partners are businesses located along or near the route who help bring the experience to life by offering a warm welcome, local flavour, and a memorable stop along the journey.

Why Become a Partner?

Walkers are passing by and actively looking for places to stay, eat, and explore. Your business may already be on the route, check our map to see if you are on or near the route!

As a partner, your business will receive:

  • A listing on the Island Walk website map with a link to your website
  • Appear on the partners page with a link to your website
  • Promotional posts on our Facebook and Instagram (Example)
  • Potential feature in themed itineraries (coming soon!)
  • Referrals in direct responses to walker inquiries when appropriate
  • A custom passport stamp with your logo (provided by Island Walk)
  • Receive a window sticker to acknowledge our partnership

Only active partners are listed on our website, giving you stronger visibility to walkers planning their journey.

Be Part of The Experience

A unique part of the Island Walk is our passport system. Walkers carry a pamphlet and collect stamps at businesses along the route as they complete each section. It encourages them to stop, explore, and connect with local places.

As a partner, you become part of that experience. Not just a stop, but a memorable moment in someone’s journey across PEI.

Partner Expectations

To support the program and help us grow:

  • Partners are asked to stamp walker passports when visitors stop in (stamp provided).

Packages

We encourage partners to offer packages to stand out to walkers. These additions can often lead to multi-night stays!

  • Accommodations: provide breakfast, packed lunches, or shuttle services.
  • Food stops: provide grab-and-go lunch options like sandwiches or snacks that hold up well in a backpack for a few hours. You could offer an Island Walker special!

Seasonal Opportunity

The Island Walk runs from May to October, with peak activity in September. For many businesses, this is a valuable way to extend the season and attract visitors later in the year.
